Profile
Volt is a pan-European party and is running in Hilversum and Wijdemeren for the first time. The programme emphasises house building within existing boundaries, protecting nature around the lakes and more say for villages and neighbourhoods through their own budgets and a citizens’ assembly. Many proposals are taken from other European cities. On energy, Volt rejects wind turbines in the municipality and supports research into nuclear energy (p. 16).

Housing
- Before 2040, 6,000 extra homes in Hilversum and 800 in Wijdemeren, built within the current town and village boundaries. p. 6
