Profile

BBB is running in Hilversum and Wijdemeren for the first time. The party opposed the merger and wants the villages of Wijdemeren to keep their own say and facilities (p. 6–7). The programme chooses fewer rules, housing for people with local ties, paid parking only where it is really needed, and "realistic sustainability" without wind turbines (p. 22).

Key positions

Summarised from the election programme. Click the page number to read the passage itself (in Dutch).

Merger and governance

  • Within 100 days of the new council taking office, a public financial baseline of the merger: all costs, debts, risks and reserves on the table. p. 6
  • Safeguards for the villages: a service point in the area, council meetings on location, village budgets of their own and an alderman for the villages and the countryside. p. 7

Housing

  • Homes first for people with strong local ties. Refugees with a residence permit get no priority. p. 10
  • Homes for informal carers with only a notification requirement, splitting homes where responsible, and a quick study of housing construction in Nederhorst Noord. p. 10
  • Temporary homes and reception locations, such as De Kwakel and the Philips site, remain available as homes later on. The old Wijdemeren town hall becomes housing for first-time buyers and older people. p. 11

Parking

  • Paid parking only in the centre where it is really necessary. Strongly against extending it to residential neighbourhoods and shopping areas, and in favour of rolling it back. p. 24

Energy

  • Absolutely against wind turbines on or near Hilversum's territory. The party sees opportunities for nuclear energy. p. 22

Sustainability

  • No forced gas-free neighbourhoods without an affordable alternative, and no extra local rules on top of national policy. p. 22

Nature

  • Do not close nature areas to the public: nature is there to be enjoyed. p. 16
  • Strongly against compulsory expropriation of farmland for nature goals beyond what the law requires. p. 20

Culture

  • Cherish traditions, such as carnival in Ankeveen and Kortenhoef and the funfair, with low fees for events. p. 8

Subsidies

  • No association or community organisation suddenly loses its subsidy because of the merger. p. 9

Care

  • One contact person and one plan per household, and no unnecessary reassessments for permanent disabilities. p. 12

Safety

  • More camera surveillance in places with frequent disturbances, and keep local police stations and fire stations as much as possible. p. 23

Asylum

  • In favour of withdrawing the Dispersal Act, and reception in proportion to the number of residents of the neighbourhood. p. 25

Finances

  • Local taxes only go up if there is really no other way, and less hiring of expensive outside consultants. p. 26

How we find this out

We compare each name with the Electoral Council’s candidate lists for Hilversum and Wijdemeren (2010–2022) and with the names recorded at council votes (Hilversum since 9 September 2020, Wijdemeren since 30 January 2014). For council membership before we have votes with names, we count from the election at which the person was elected. Aldermen are not councillors. We match on name; where in doubt, we checked the records ourselves. Spotted a mistake? Email contact@stemgidshilversum.nl.
